Wadding Pool

We went to Tower Grove Park last weekend to use the wading pool. Elinor was nice enough to get in with Meredith so Sally and I could talk and knit. Merdith had a great time and loved watching all the other kids play.

Modeling

Meredith and I stayed home together Tuesday so that Rene (who is watching Meredith while Lara is on maternity leave) could get some last minute stuff done. I managed to finish a hat for Lara's new son and Meredith was kind enough to model it for me.

Ponty Family Reunion

Meredith and I travelled to Madison last weekend for a Ponty Family Reunion. My Grandma and Great Uncle Herman are the last 2 Pontys of that generation but there were many more there from subsequent generations and it was great to see all of them, even if we only knew a few to start with. Uncle Caleb and family as well as Grandpa, Milena and Aunt Alex met us there and Great Aunt Chrissy was nice enough to let us stay with her. Cousin Nicosia was excited to "hold" Meredith, but only for a few minutes because "Meredith's heavy."

St. Louis in the summer

We have been very busy lately, so busy that I have forgotten to update this in awhile. One of the best things that happened is that we put an attic fan in on our roof. The house is so hot in summer-we get full sun all day-and it has helped a lot. Meredith and I had to watch from the yard to make sure Mike didn't fall off the roof. This was also the first time that I had heard Mike was afraid of heights. I managed to carry everything up there and Mike got 90% of it done, but couldn't manuever to get the last of the nails in so I finished and then tarred the remaining shingles. It was 95 degrees that day and while I managed to remember sunscreen for Meredith, both Mike and I walked away a little pinker.

Knitting at the Arch

Meredith and I trecked down to the Arch for the 2008 Knitting in Public with our friends Sally, Elinor and Lenora. It was a beautiful day, and we joined a few dozen knitters. Meredith was a hit, everyone was impressed by what a good baby she was, she never fussed, and even managed to catch a nap.

Raspberries

Meredith has begun to talking more and blow raspberries, which was fun and cute until she discovered she could do it with food in her mouth. There's nothing like a baby blowing raspberries with a mouth full of mashed potatos. Alas I didn't sacrifice my camera for that, but here's Meredith's thoughts on the day's events.

Crawling is for Chumps

Meredith has decided against crawling, and really why shouldn't she? She gets everywhere she needs to just fine using the butt shuffle. She's surprisingly fast and the diapers are great at cleaning the floor-bonus!
